The Wet Hair Look? We’re not so sure… we like bouncy, voluminous and usually dry looks. But here we find some of the top fashion houses working with stylist icons to create the Wet Hair look this season!
“It takes a certain kind of person to scrape back her hair and be exposed,” admits Orlando Pita, hairstylist for Giambattista Valli, who used gel followed by glossing pomade the wet look.
“It’s not for everyone—but then again, we work with perfect beauties.”
Pita had a world traveller in mind when creating the look for Vera Wang too, where he used hidden bobby pins at the nape of the neck to pin down hair before creating a slick, “just came up from the ocean” silhouette overtop.
A watery nymph also surfaced at Chanel thanks to Sam McKnight for Pantene who mixed hair gel with a conditioning mask to keep the chignons looking soft instead of crunchy. Pearl hairpins created by the fashion house topped off the look, completing Karl Lagerfeld’s underwater fantasy.
